My favorite girls, The Jane Doze, have just rocked my world…again. T-Swift? Yeah, I’ll listen. Zeds Dead? OK, you got my attention. Unreleased Zeds Dead with Taylor Swift? Pressing Play now. Even if you know nothing about music, your ears should easily tell you that this mashup is good, nay great.
Yes it’s been a long ass time, which is why I’m keeping this post short and to the point. Hot damn, this track will get you up and moving. Carly Rae’s vocals seem to be the hot thing being sampled but The Jane Doze’s decision to pair it with Porter Robinson’s “Language” was a good move. Sounds good, feels good, and makes you dance good. Infectious? Definitely. In the meantime, I’m hoping that either one of the girls from The Jane Doze will call me…maybe.
Wasn’t really planning on posting another track tonight…but then this song came on and I had to put it up for y’all. My man, Vandal, or A Vandal’s Lie to y’all went beast mode with this mashup. I can’t even count how many samples there are, nor do I want to. My reasoning? Because it’s too damn good to try and figure it out instead of enjoying the beauty of the track. Samples are perfectly paired together creating some interesting pairings and at other times creating something perfect. Continue reading
Damn do I love me some Xaphoon. And not surprisingly, Big Sean with J. Cole on top of some Xaphoon instrumentals? Yeah, your ears will enjoy this thoroughly. Everything sounds like it just works great together. DJ RadioDreaD kills it with this one, so download it now! Continue reading
I’m back for a post…and it has certainly been a long time coming. If you haven’t heard, I’ve moved down to Chile and was busy looking for work. WELL, I got something in the works so that’s taken up a good chunk of time. I’ve also been running Mashup Mondays for both The Kollection and EARMILK…so that has been taking up lots of my blogging time. I’m going to try and make more of an effort to post up more during the week, but my main weekly posts will be done on those sites. BUT in the meantime, check out this dope live mashup video done by Ithaca Audio after the jump… Continue reading
As I alluded to yesterday, Easter Egg absolutely took me by surprise with his mashing ability. Thanks to Simp (and Bruneaux) for the heads up on this guy. To give you an idea of the style of mashups Easter Egg partakes in, think of a funky and hip hop/rap heavy Girl Talk style. The vocal samples are full of older and newer hip hop samples, and what really captured my attention is the flow of the album. Some pitch areas are off at times, but that’s a minor detail. Below is the SC player for his continuous album with links added to his respective album in individualized track format and one continuous track format. So take a listen and download below…
If you start off a mash with the Circle of Life track from The Lion King, then you got cojones. Now, if you follow up said introduction to a mash with an even better complete mash then you’re DJ Massakerr. Massakerr is an up and coming masher who delves into the electro/dance/house mashes with Top 40 vocals being mashed into the instrumentals. What I like about this track is that the vocals aren’t the same overused vocal samples except for the LMFAO sample, but LMFAO isn’t the focal vocal sample. That honor goes to Nelly Furtado and Akon. But take a listen and let me know what you think, and as always download below… Continue reading
How many samples does it take to create a sick mashup? I don’t know if there is a correct answer to that question, but in the case of DJ Strongarm‘s Awesome Title [for MDC] it seems that magical number is 25. In his own words, “25 samples in 3:30. Can you handle it?” And that truly is the question. Each vocal sample flows seamlessly into the next one very similar to DJ Earworm, and the instrumental track is a dope electronic track that carries each vocal sample well. But take a listen below, and if you can handle it grab the download as well… Continue reading
How goes it everyone? We’re getting close to Halloween so there are plenty of Halloween-themed mashups being created, yet it is still nice to give notice to the non-Halloween mashups. Stronger Toys by Dotcom is one such track – filthy effects, electro to the fullest, and the Kanye vocals fits in perfectly. I had never heard the instrumental track, Toy Story by David Guetta, but it’s definitely something that I enjoyed. Even if Kanye can be a prick and an attention whore, there is no denying that he has skill…skills that Dotcom has focused into one banging track for your listening (and partying) pleasure. So take a listen and download below… Continue reading
My man abSRD has done it again. Creating Three Cheers for Tonight, abSRD gives us an upbeat electro/dance mash that certainly fits his style. Heck, he even included my hispanic brother (no, we’re not actually related or I would be seeing Anna Kournikova more often) Enrique Iglesias and the rap group that I heard during P.E. when I was a little kid: Tag Team. Yeah, after a couple plays the song really grew on me, so I’ll just tell you that it is a must download. So listen and download below… Continue reading
